On September 6, 2026, Bormio will host an event that captures the authentic spirit of Valtellina: the Longest Pizzoccherata in Italy.
Local products, music and a great desire to be together will accompany a day dedicated to conviviality and one of the most beloved culinary traditions of Valtellina.
For the occasion, Bormio’s historic centre will be transformed into one huge table stretching for approximately 800 metres, where more than 2,000 people will be able to sit together and enjoy one of the most representative dishes of Valtellina cuisine: pizzoccheri, a rustic pasta made mainly with buckwheat flour and wheat flour, traditionally served with potatoes, Savoy cabbage, Valtellina Casera cheese and melted butter. A rich and hearty dish, born from the farming traditions of the Valtellina mountains and now one of the valley’s best-known culinary symbols.
