Mens sana in corpore sano: after a day spent in the crisp mountain
air, there is nothing better than a relaxing stopover at the three Spas of
Bormio, ideal places where to spend the best part of your leisure time,
pursuing that ideal of rest or otium, vital condition for tackling, restored in
the mind and body, any other activity.
The Hot Water Springs of Bormio derive from 9 sources situated on the
mountainside of the Dolomite rocks of Mount Reit inside the Monumental Park of
Bagni of Bormio, at variable altitudes, varying from 1280 to 1420 metres a.s.l
The mineral water, which is one of the very few Hot Mineral Springs in the area
south of the Alps, wells up at a temperature from 36° to 43° C, depending on
the season: hotter in Winter, because the ground ice does not allow the
infiltration of rainwater; variable temperature in Summer, in relation to the
atmospheric rainfall.
Three Spas reported to the ancient
splendour thanks to a skilful restoration: the waters have detoxifying,
regenerating, anti-stress, relaxing and anti-inflammatory properties and
especially two of which without added chlorine.
In 2006 a special area was opened for
the fun of the children at the Baths of Bormio, with outdoor slides and pools
just deep, with colourful games.
Three Spas are currently
operating, always open:
Terme of Bormio
