How to rich us
The Valdidentro is located at 10 km (6.2 miles) Northeast of Bormio Valley and 25 km (15.5 miles) from Livigno. Historically, Valdidentro has a very relevant role because in the Middle Ages it was the departing point of the Imperial Way of Alemagna which, going through the Scale Mountain, connected the Bormiese and the Engadina with the Monastero Valley.
Currently Valdidentro is part of Alta Valtellina's tourist district, which is composed of 4 areas: Premadio (1,300 m / 4,265 ft.), Pedenosso (1,450 m / 4,757 ft.), Isolaccia (1,350 m / 4,429 ft.) and Semogo (1,463 m / 4,780 ft.).
Valdidentro offers incomparable natural attractions such as the impressing Piazzi Peak (3,439 m / 11,282 ft.). Valdidentro and Valdisotto's slopes and ski chairlifts converge over the San Colombano mountain creating one of the sunniest and panoramic ski areas in the Alpine arch. Some of the most well-known points are the "Purple" downhill slope that includes the biathlon slope and the adjacent ski stadium (entitled to the "Azzurri d'Italia") which is a very well equipped center dedicated to practice the Nordic discipline in winter and the MTB (Mountain Bike) and the summer roller ski in summer.
Furthermore Valdidentro is a thermal zone where you can enjoy the "Ancient Baths ” (Ancient Baths) existing since ancient times and the "Modern Baths " (Modern Baths) which are the thermal baths of Bormio Spa Resort.
To be seen: In Premadio the 14th century S. Gallo church with its polygonal shape cusp bell tower; the Saints Martino and Urbano church in Pendenosso, which has record of existence since 1316 and rebuilt on 1685; it has an unique porch and it is located in a dominant position on the Clift (Roccia); and Fraele Valley where you can visit the Cancano dam, and at the Saint Giacomo’s dam the two towers of Fraele (1,941 m / 6,368 ft.), which evidently had a sighting and defense purposes for the Bormiese.
